Sanity has prevailed and DERM have reopened the beach in front of Comboyuro and North Point camp grounds.

A win for common sense and the the people who live here, the tourist operators and the visitors to Moreton, all who were ignored when the original decision was made to close these beaches.

Be aware that the 20km speed limit has now been extended to cover the beach in front of these two camp sites.

With all the recent rain the water table has risen significantly, so much that a 10000l in ground tank, under a house in Cowan Cowan, has been lifted up about a metre, and actually lifted the house off its foundations. That”s right, the house was lifted off its foundations

The top of the tank had to be cut off and then section of the side had to be cut away and dragged from under the house.

Now we have to organise to fill the hole on under the house.
