About Us

Mission Statement

“We want to keep people who live, visit and anybody else who is interested in Moreton Island, well informed about our piece of paradise. It’s the first question that most people ask when they arrive,            ” whats been happening on the island?”
We also see it as a one stop shop where you can see almost all relevant news, community and government announcements concerning Moreton Island and provide you with a forum to voice your opinions.
We will welcome and acknowledge your input.
This is not a commercial undertaking, and any free advertising and  links we offer, are simply there for your convenience”

About the Author

Phillip Watt has lived on Moreton Island for nearly 15 years, having moved from Brisbane in February 1996.
Phillips first visit to Moreton Island was in 1984, arriving at Kooringal, after dark, on the Moreton Venture and like most first timers, got lost. We camped at Eagers Crossing on the Eastern Beach
My love affair with Moreton Island had begun.
We became  regular visitors, sometimes coming over twice a month and camping. We met many of the locals and others who had holiday houses on the island and before long found ourselves staying  in these houses as  guests.
When we, or  rather  I, caught the  “sea change “ bug, it was Moreton Island here I come.

Lizzie moved over some 4 years later, leaving the Brissy fashion industry behind. A year later we married and we now work from home at 8 Jessie Wadsworth St, Cowan Cowan, operating Moreton Island Real Estate.
We see this website as an opportunity to give something back to Moreton Island, which over the years has provided us with a fantastic lifestyle
