Established back in 1989 by Theo Jolly, who sadly passed away in 2011.Theo and Denise would spend at least 6 months every year on Moreton Island and he was definitely the man to talk to about buying real estate on the Island, having sold nearly all the original blocks of land. He was passionate about Moreton Island.
I had been a regular visitor to the island since 1990, and fell in love with the place. I moved to the island in 2006 and some time later acquired the business from Theo. Of more recent years we have looked to grow our holiday property management business and now have some 50 properties on our books.

Our on island team
Phil Watt, I schedule the maintenance and repairs, manage the website and property sales
Lizzie Rainger, my wife, looks after the enquires and bookings and housekeeping schedules
Paula Gatehouse, is on the housekeeping team and is now taking on some office procedures.
Ron Grobes, her partner, is on the property maintenance and repairs team
Carolyn Cooper, who has just recently joined us, is also on the housekeeping team.
Jake Thistleton, her partner is also on the property maintenance and repairs team
Grahame Robertson, is sales consultant.
Cleaning and linen services
This service is supplied to all properties managed by Moreton Island Real Estate and in some cases, to owners who manage their own property for holiday letting.
All our linen is white, we supply bath towels and everything is professionally and hygienically cleaned in Brisbane.
Property maintenance
We have handy persons and trade persons on staff, on the island and can provide the following...
*Programmed maintenance of properties, which includes lawns, gardens, gas supplies, gutters, solar panels and batteries.
*Other maintenance requirements, including repairs to fly screens, deck washing , sanding and oiling, external house washing and painting.
*Larger projects such as small extension, deck repairs and /or extension and roof re-sheeting and renovations
*For new building projects we have provided on-site supervision and labour hire, to assist non-resident owners
Freight services
We have a utility vehicle that travels on the MICAT, to and from the Moreton Island, every second Thursday and returns on the 1pm boat Friday
Apart from collecting our supplies, we also carry items for our many clients, subject to available space.

Landscaping
This is something that I am personally very keen on. I enjoy the the creative side of landscaping. We are more focused now on using native plants and not importing materials from the mainland, if it can be avoided.
We are registered as trade users with turf, landscaping material and plant nurseries, allowing us to buy at the right price.
